Jump Take-off of a Pitcairn PA-36! Not Juan de le Cierva as the video is title

Bruce is this the first autogyro jump takeoff?

Juan was a brilliant man!!! Way ahead of his time.

Makes you wonder why few have been able to do the same?

This is NOT a Cierva Autogiro but the Pitcairn PA-36. And no, it was not the first Jump takeoff - that was the Cierva C.30 prototype G-ACFI in August 1933 in a tentative manner, but more confidently with an improved rotor head in October 1934. The first American jump-takeoff model was the 9th version of the Pitcairn PA-22 which made the first American jump take-off on November 9, 1935.
